Please stand by … your blog-reading is very important to us …

Here’s the deal: my (Lara’s) laptop died earlier this week. I took it to theĀ GeniusĀ Bar on Wednesday and the laptop is now out for repair. So, just a few text updates today.

Alexandra: I know why you’re reading, so we’ll start with her. She’s growing SO fast. She’s already in 6-month clothes and has graduated to Size 2 diapers (we’re very proud). On Wednesday, she weighed just shy of 14 pounds … I think she’ll have doubled her birth weight by her 4-month check-up. She’s also figuring out the world around her and starting to be able to grab things. Her favorite thing right now–besides food–is a Lamaze toy book. Its “crinkle” pages are a HUGE hit. She also had her first playdate yesterday with the “Pacheco babies” (the offspring of Ian and his former housemates). Pictures to come.

Ian: Is back working at LeapFrog. Yes, really. It’s a contract position for the next 4-6 months. He’s now experiencing the East Bay / San Mateo commute, which is oh so much fun. We’re quite thankful we have the diesel car. We miss him during the day (and vice versa), but we’re thankful for the gig and the opportunity for Ian to expand his resume while working with old friends.

Lara: Is having bad luck with laptops. In addition to the untimely death of my laptop, I dropped Ian’s laptop on Thursday night. Luckily, my big toe caught the corner of the laptop and broke its fall. His laptop is fine. My toe was not quite as lucky. I have a “slight non-displaced fracture,” which basically means I have a WICKED bruise and need to take it easy for a few days. All things considered, it’s healing really well. The first night was super-painful, but since then, Advil has been enough. Good thing flip-flop weather is done.

Should be back up and posting more adorableness in a few days … stay tuned!
